The Platte City Lions Club had its annual installation of officers Tuesday evening in conjunction with ladies night and a dinner meeting at Moila Shrine Club in St. Joseph. Lion Dennis Offutt served as master of ceremonies and introduced the Rev. Lester M. Weeks, who presented pictures and narrated the travels of several Platte Countians to the Holy Land last February.
St. John’s Lutheran Church of Lanesville, Indiana was the setting for the candlelight wedding June 3 of Pamela Sue Oberdiek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Oberdiek of Platte City, to Larry Albert Eisert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Eisert of Lanesville. A reception was held June 10 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Farley. Servers were Mrs. Edward Robker, Denise Maurer, Covina, Calif., cousin of the bride, and Mary Van Pelt, Kansas City North. The couple is at home in Lanesville following a trip east.
Repeating wedding vows June 24 at a lovely garden wedding in Platte City were Mary Lisa Cox and William Jackson Werline. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Wayne Cox and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Werline, all of Platte City.
Robert M. Verdi has announced his candidacy for the presiding judge of the Platte County Court and has filed on the Republican ticket.
