Russell Wojtkiewicz, a longtime Platte County resident, retired business owner, and community volunteer, has announced his candidacy for Platte County Clerk.
Wojtkiewicz has lived in Platte County for more than 41 years and brings over three decades of business experience to the race. He is a 36-year member of the Knights of Columbus, a father, and a widower, whose life has been rooted in faith, family, and service to the community.
“Platte County deserves a county clerk who values accuracy, transparency, and respect for the taxpayers,” Wojtkiewicz said: “I’m running to bring proven experience, steady leadership, and conservative values to this office.”
As a retired business owner of more than 30 years, Wojtkiewicz says he understands accountability, recordkeeping, and the importance of doing things right the first time — skills he believes are essential to the duties of the County Clerk’s office.
A constitutional conservative Christian, Wojtkiewicz says his campaign will focus on professionalism, integrity, and principled public service for all Platte County residents.
“This office isn’t about politics — it’s about trust,” he said. “The clerk’s office must operate efficiently, fairly, and with complete transparency. I believe my background prepares me well to serve.”
Wojtkiewicz has registered a campaign committee with the Missouri Ethics Commission and will file as a candidate on Feb. 24. He will campaign throughout the county leading up to the August Republican primary and November general election.
