Elliot Lahn has announced his candidacy for Platte County Treasurer, launching a campaign he says is focused on restoring transparency, professionalism, and public trust to one of the county’s most important financial offices.
“The treasurer’s office should be defined by accuracy, accountability, and common sense,” Lahn said. “Taxpayers deserve to know their money is being managed carefully, ethically, and in the open. My goal is simple: make the office work the way it should and make it worthy of the public’s trust.”
Lahn brings years of experience in operations, finance, and organizational leadership, overseeing budgets and complex systems in both the public and nonprofit sectors. He holds an MBA with a focus on economics, finance, and corporate ethics, and says that background shapes how he approaches stewardship and decision making.
While his campaign is focused on the future, Lahn said many residents are ready for a renewed emphasis on consistency, professionalism, and clear communication from county government.
“People don’t want drama or confusion,” he said. “They want an office that runs clean, runs straight, and runs the same way every day. This is not about politics. It is about doing the job right.”
Lahn’s priorities include strengthening transparency in financial reporting, reinforcing strong internal controls, and ensuring the Treasurer’s office delivers dependable, professional service to the public.
“I believe public service is a trust,” Lahn said. “If I am elected, I will run this office in a way that earns that trust every single day.”
Elliot Lahn lives in Platte County with his family and is active in community and civic leadership. He is seeking the Republican nomination for Platte County Treasurer.
