After reading about the place in the Jan. 14 Between the Lines column in The Landmark, a pair of Landmark readers ventured to Northeast Pizza in Kansas City this week to check it out for themselves. The verdict? “Great place and great food,” says Mike Maasen, who resides in Kansas City in Platte County. Northeast Pizza is located in Pendleton Heights, a historic neighborhood in the historic northeast area of Kansas City, just east of downtown. Exact address is 2203 Lexington Ave., Kansas City. Northeast Pizza is known for its New York style pizza with crispy crust and flavorful sauce. Pendleton Heights is known for its Victorian homes, parks, and tree-lined streets, bordered by The Paseo, Cliff Drive, Chestnut Trafficway, and Independence Avenue. It’s one of KC’s first suburbs, rich in history and architecture.
