FEATURING APPAREL AND ACCESSORIES
Zona Rosa continues to expand its lineup of experience-driven retail offerings with the upcoming arrival of Hula Hoop KC, a local, vibrant vintage boutique and social shopping concept founded by Andrea Boswell-Burns, opening at 7106 NW 86th Terrace.
The 2,120 square foot storefront is slated to open Spring 2026, bringing Hula Hoop KC’s signature pop-up energy to the Northland. This is the second brick-and-mortar location for Hula Hoop KC and the first in the Northland.
Known for its bold aesthetic and curated vintage finds, Hula Hoop KC offers shoppers a playful mix of apparel, accessories, and statement pieces in a highly visual environment.
The Zona Rosa location for Hula Hoop will be open Thursday through Sunday for guests to shop and socialize while enjoying complimentary cocktails. Designed as a destination beyond traditional retail, the space will feature creative activations and immersive details that encourage discovery and repeat visits.
The exterior of the Hula Hoop KC’s – Zona Rosa storefront will make an immediate statement, with a local Kansas City artist Seth Jones hand-painting the awning and consulting on the full exterior design. The result will be a bright, colorful store that adds to Zona Rosa’s streetscape and reflects Hula Hoop KC’s expressive brand. Inside, the boutique will carry the same layered, high-energy style that has made the Midtown pop-up a local favorite.
“We’re excited to welcome a locally rooted small business like Hula Hoop KC, one that embodies fun and offers unique experiences for both locals and visitors to Zona Rosa,” said Scott Zigler, general manager of Zona Rosa. “As a true hub for dining, shopping, working, and playing in the Northland, we’re proud to provide a home for community-driven brands to grow. We know our guests will love the fresh energy Hula Hoop KC brings to our mix of tenants and growing group of small businesses.”
With its blend of vintage retail, art, and social elements, Hula Hoop KC is a natural fit for Zona Rosa’s walkable, community-focused environment and ongoing commitment to spotlighting local, creative businesses.
