A Fun Festival complete with flea market auction, band and dancing, celebrity auction, food booth is being planned by the Platte County Democratic Central Committee for Sept. 20.


A groundbreaking was held Tuesday for a Mid-America Livestock Export Center at the TWA Cargo Center at KCI Airport.

Five proposals for 911 emergency phone services were presented to the Platte County Administrative Court at its Thursday meeting, but the judges decided not to take any action at this time.


Missouri Public Service company filed a request with the Public Service Commission of the State of Missouri (PSC) on Sept. 5 for a $29.3 million increase in annual electric revenues.


The Platte County R-3 High School football squad got off to a good start Friday night, scoring a convincing 25-6 victory over Smithville. All of the Pirates’ scoring was in the first half and the Warriors weren’t able to get on the board until the final period.


Lou Greenshaw, Weston, has been graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City of Pharmacy.
