This building on Platte City’s Main Street directly across from the Platte County Courthouse will be home to an Italian restaurant in a matter of months. That’s the word from David Barth, local developer, who owns the building that for years housed Shirley’s Fashion Center. The building, formerly owned by Shirley Kimsey, is one of several on Main Street purchased by Barth in the past couple of years. Renovation work is underway on the building, located at 339 Main Street. Barth said a target date for the opening of the Italian restaurant, which is expected to have a seating capacity of 80-100, is February 2026. The operator of the restaurant is not ready to be publicly announced, Barth stated.
