Landmark Lager, a craft beer named after the historic Platte County Landmark newspaper, is now on tap in historic Downtown Parkville. The beer is now offered at the Alley Bar inside the Parkville American Legion building, 11 Main Street in Downtown Parkville. “Landmark Lager is now on tap at the world famous Parkville American Legion,” said Chris Wallingford, media contact for the Parkville American Legion, in a recent text to The Landmark.
Barley & Vine in Downtown Platte City brews Landmark Lager and it is a popular choice of beer drinkers in Platte City’s upscale wine bar and brewery, which is located at 246 Main, a short distance west of the Platte County Courthouse. Barley & Vine is a craft brewery as well as a full service wine bar. Prior to its opening a couple of years ago, Barley & Vine owner Laura Lowry proposed the idea of naming their lager after The Landmark, and owners of the newspaper embraced the idea.
