Last week found the Platte City mayor and three of the aldermen at an elected officials training conference conducted by the Missouri  Municipal League (MML) in Columbia. The purpose of this training was to pass on knowledge  to the elected, helping them to be better servants to constituents. Platte City Mayor Steve Hoeger and Alderman Dan Laxson received updated and current information, as both have attended in the past. Also attending were two of the newer Platte City aldermen, Jesse Bennett and Ken Graham. Topics included things such as “running effective public meetings” and the Missouri Sunshine Law. From left: Bennett, Hoeger, Laxson and Graham.
