The incident occurred about 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1. Deputies initially attempted to stop a 2001 Toyota pickup for speeding. After a brief pursuit, the vehicle was stopped at the Interstate 29 rest area south of Dearborn.

Authorities say a search of the driver and the vehicle resulted in the discovery of over 125.8 grams of suspected Ketamine, 1.5 grams of suspected cocaine, $126,735 in cash, a 2.21 carat diamond and two one-ounce gold bars.

Sheriff Erik Holland stated, “This is a great example of the work our patrol division is doing to remove drugs from our streets. Cases like this show why traffic enforcement is an important part of safety in our community.”

The driver of the vehicle, Kyle Fogarty, 33, of Aurora, Colo. was taken into custody and is currently being held in the Platte County Detention Center.

Fogarty has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and delivery of a controlled substance. Both charges are felonies.
