A surprise announcement of resignation was made to the Platte City Board of Aldermen by Alderman Don Soper. The announcement came at the board’s regular meeting. The resignation takes effect immediately. He recently purchased a home at Basswood but maintains his residency at the Airport Motor Inn. This has caused some questions. Mayor Truman Glenn named Bill Hoskins to fill the one year unexpired term.
