IN NORTHERN PLATTE COUNTY
The rest area on northbound I-29 in Platte County will be closed the next several months for renovation.
The closure began on Friday, Jan. 17 and is ongoing until October 2025.
All work is weather permitting. The buildings and the areas for car and truck parking will be closed.
The rest area will have improved access in line with the guidance of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the building will be remodeled both inside and out, including expansion to include an interior vestibule, family restroom, and vending area.
Signs and barricades will be in place during the closures.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
