The annual Christmas on the River celebration is Friday night, Dec. 6 beginning at 6 p.m.

This year’s event will include several new features.

Following is some of the fun that is planned:

·Parkville’s inaugural Christmas Market
·Holiday entertainment starting at 6 p.m.
·Visit and take photos with Santa Claus
·Hot Chocolate, Kettle Korn & more
·Kids Crafts & Parents Lounge (hosted by River Park Church)
·Live music and photo ops in Pocket Park
·Dining, shopping and open houses at all your downtown favorites
·Specialty holiday vendors
·Reindeer food and Letters to Santa (The Farmacy on Main, 111 Main Street)
·Holiday fireworks show at about 8:45 p.m. along the Missouri River.

This year, in conjunction with the Main Street Parkville Association and through the assistance of a grant from COUNTRY Financial, the Holiday Wonder Walk will decorate the inside loop at English Landing Park with Christmas Lights (similar to the drive-through lights you see in a number of communities).

This new, annual feature will be a walking treat for visitors and there is no charge.

The Holiday Wonder Walk will run from Friday, Dec. 6 until Friday, Jan. 3.
