CANDIDATE FILING PERIOD OPENS DEC. 10
Four seats on the Platte City Board of Aldermen will be up for grabs at the spring election in April.
Filing for potential candidates opens on Dec. 10 at 8 a.m. and will end Dec. 31 at 5 p.m. Interested persons can file for office may do so with the city clerk at City Hall, 224 Marshall Road in Platte City from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Final day of filling candidates may file until 5 p.m.
City of Platte City offices will be closed on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25.
Positions that are open this year are:
*Alderman, ward one, a two year term, currently held by Vickie Atkins.
*Alderman, ward two, one year term, currently held by Jesse Bennett.
*Alderman, ward two, two year term, currently held by Scott Poague.
*Alderman, ward three, two year term, currently held by John Higgins.
