A project that began 15 years ago to honor and recognize veterans was dedicated Nov. 7. Jim McCall served as emcee and Parkville Mayor Dean Katerndahl cut the ribbon surrounded by representatives of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the City of Parkville, clergy and Commander of the 35th Infantry Division Major General John W. Rueger. The fountain surrounded by benches and flags, including a braille flag from the White Alloe Chapter of the DAR, graces the entrance to Parkville on Hwy. 9. Future plans include a walking path.
