Ground was broken on Tuesday, Oct. 29 for the new $120 million amphitheater coming to Riverside. The groundbreaking drew officials like Riverside Mayor Kathy Rose, Gov. Mike Parson, State Rep. Jamie Johnson and State Sen. Tony Luetkemeyer, as well as other community leaders and local partners. The concert venue will seat around 16,000 people and will be a mixture of pit, general admission, lawn, and premium seating, many of which will be covered by a 70-ft. high roof. It is planned that up to 40 shows a year will take place at the venue, being built in partnership between Riverside, the State of Missouri and LiveNation. There will be about 5,000 parking spaces. Riverside officials project the venue will attract 350,000 annual visitors and may generate $7.5 million in state and local tax revenues per year. It is expected to open for the 2026 concert season. It is being constructed on 125 acres, located near Interstate 635 and Horizons Parkway. The Landmark was the first Kansas City media outlet to break the news of the planned new venue in an exclusive story in our Dec. 13, 2023 edition.
