Motorcyclist seriously hurt on I-29

NORTH OF PLATTE CITY

A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 29 a few miles north of Platte City over the weekend.

The crash occurred on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 4:05 p.m. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, while northbound on I-29 near the 23 mile marker the motorcycle for unknown reasons ran off the left side of the roadway and overturned.

The motorcycle driver, Leo J. Wynne, 68, of Raytown, suffered serious injuries, according to the highway patrol. He was transported by Northland Regional Ambulance District to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. The report indicates the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Platte County Sheriff’s Department.
