A Weston police officer has been arrested and charged with selling a controlled substance near a school. Kyle Zumbrunn, 26, was arrested Sept. 22 in Atchison, Kan. for allegedly selling prescription drugs oxycodone and morphine within 1,000 feet of a school. Zumbrunn was released on a $40,000 bond.


Amidst allegations of a lack of cooperation from the human resources director, the director of administration and the county commissioners, the Platte County auditor did hit on one topic where she’ll net no argument from the commissioners: There are problems in the human resources department. The human resources department handles payroll and benefits for county employees. On Friday, Siobhann Williams, county auditor held a press conference in which she announced that she is in the process of auditing the county’s human resources department. She provided the media a list of problems she says her office has uncovered with payroll issues over the past two and a half years.

Bookkeeping issues, a lack of protocol, problems with closed meetings and lack of certain formal policies have plagued the City of Tracy. So says Missouri state Auditor Susan Montee, whose office conducted a probe into city government at Tracy. The scope of the audit included, but wasn’t necessarily limited to, the two years ending Dec. 31, 2008. The audit was conducted after a citizen petition requesting the probe had been successfully circulated.
