The family of Ruth and Murrel Reynolds of 7 NE 76th Terrace, Gladstone, are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 8 from 2-4 in the afternoon. The celebration will be held at the Gashland United Presbyterian Church at 8029 North Oak Street.


Emily Nichole Durand celebrated her third birthday on Aug. 22. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Durand of Platte City. She has a six-year-old brother, Dustin.

The Town and Country Farm Tour and Barbecue will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. Starting point will be the J.C. Ranch, two miles north of Smithville. From there the farm tour will visit the Kemp Woods Farm, the new Smithville Lake, the C.O. Neth Farm and back to the J.C. Ranch for the barbecue. Guest speaker will be J. Marvin Garner, former executive vice-president of the National Pork Producers Council.


On Sept. 8, 1979 employees of the Division of Liquor Control will honor their fellow employees who have served 15 years or more in the government of the State of Missouri. A banquet and program for the honorees will be held at the Jefferson City Ramada Inn commencing at 6:30 p.m.
