Looks like it’s time to vote for a new assessor. The current assessor runs the office based on intimidation with scare tactics to try to keep you from fighting over assessments. Overassessments with no documentation are done on a routine basis forcing the taxpayer to give up their fourth and fourteenth amendment rights, and submit to a home search, or pay the overassessment. Due to incompetence, some taxpayers were not allowed to appeal their assessments until a state senator got involved.
The current assessor and his employees have worked hard for the state, working against the taxpayers and non profit groups. For more of the same, Marcus Farr a current employee, wants your vote. For change, like helping pass Senate Bill 190 freezing property taxes for seniors, vote for Dagmar Wood on Tuesday, Aug. 6.
