Guest speakers are: Will Scharf candidate for Missouri Attorney General; State Sen. Denny Hoskins, candidate for Missouri Secretary of State; State Rep. Sean Pouche of District 13, Platte County Sheriff Mark Owen and Platte County Presiding Commissioner Scott Fricker.

From 5:30 to 6 p.m., Fricker and Owen will be presenting information and answering questions on the Platte County half cent sales tax proposal that is on the Aug. 6 election ballot.

If approved by voters, the half cent sales tax would generate $400 million to expand the county jail capacity to 471 inmates. It would be the largest tax increase in the history of the county.
