Miss Gem McFarland and Michael Wayne Palmer were united in marriage in a candlelight service on May 11, 1979 at the Barry Christian Church. The bride is the daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Eugene McFarland of Kansas City, North and the groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. George Palmer of Platte City. The bride is a 1975 graduate from the Platte City High School and was graduated with high honors this spring from Northwest Missouri State University at Maryville. The groom is presently attending Northwest Missouri State University as a senior majoring in business management.


Mr. and Mrs. Randal Lee Hart of Kidder, Mo., announce the birth of their son, Christopher Lee, on May 18,1979 at the North Kansas City Hospital. Paternal grandparents are Delina Hart of Weston, formerly of Platte City, and Arthur L. Hart of Easton, Kan. The maternal grandparents are Mary Lou Hackridge of Sherman, Tex., and L.P. Wright of Kansas City.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Estes are the proud of parents of a son, born May 23, 1979 at the Spelman Memorial Hospital in Smithville. He has been given the name of Ronald Wesley. He was welcomed home by his sister, Wendy.
