Mr. and Mrs. Aaron W. (Pete) Edlin, Jr. of Route 4, Leavenworth, announce the birth of their son, Brandon Aaron, on March 27, 1979. His maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. George E. Stein, Route 4, Leavenworth and Mr. and Mrs. Harry White, Kansas City. His paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Aaron W. (Pete) Edlin, Sr., of Platte City.


The United Methodist Women of Platte City are sponsoring an all church garage sale and food sale at the home of Mrs. Elsie Rock, 520 Thomas Street on Friday, May 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be something for everybody available.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hornbeck announce the birth of their daughter on April 10, 1979 at St. John Hospital in Leavenworth. She has been named Abbe Lynne. The grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kidwell of Bean Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Will T. Hornbeck of Weston.


Joe Kamphefner, traveling switchman for the United Telephone Company of Missouri at Kansas City, North recently completed a course in basic electronics. He was taught the fundamentals of electronic theory in this self-paced course. Classes were held at United Telephone’s Midwest Group training center in Overland Park, Kan. Kamphefner has been with United for 10 years. He resides on Route 2 in Platte City.
