Lottery winner scores $100,000 prize

BOUGHT SCRATCHERS TICKET IN PLATTE CITY

A Missouri Lottery player won a $100,000 top prize on a “$100,000 Super Crossword” Scratchers ticket she purchased at Minit Mart, 2301 Running Horse Road, in Platte City.

“I play the crossword tickets all the time,” the player said.

When she realized how much she had won, she only had one thought.

“I got straight in my car and went to the Lottery office,” said the winner, whose name was not released.

After the initial excitement wore off, she said winning was a “nice surprise.”

“It’s always fun to win something that you weren’t expecting,” she added.

To date, “$100,000 Super Crossword” players have won over $9.3 million playing the $5 game. Over $7.7 million remain in unclaimed prizes, including four more top prizes of $100,000.

In FY23, players in Platte County won more than $15.7 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $1.3 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $1 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
