Landmark On the Road in Alaska

Landmark on the road

Ron Thiewes, Kansas City, reads The Landmark while on a hunting adventure in the snow in the Kenai Peninsula Borough in Alaska. Thiewes said he was hunting sea ducks. He said there are many eagles in the area, and he put an American flag near a spot where the eagles congregate and snapped a photo. The Kenai Peninsula is a large peninsula jutting from the coast of southcentral Alaska. The glacier-covered Kenai Mountains, rising 7,000 feet, run along the southeast spine of the peninsula along the coast of the Gulf of Alaska. Much of the range is within Kenai Fjords National Park. Headed somewhere noteworthy? Take a copy of The Landmark with you and take a picture with the newspaper prominently displayed. Email your photo and information to ivan@plattecountylandmark.com.
