To celebrate the release of her newest album “Girl Bandit,” local singer/songwriter Emma Jo will be performing live at Knuckleheads on Friday, Nov. 10 at 8 p.m.

Emma Jo has ties to Platte County. Her mother, Connie McCann, worked in advertising sales for the Platte County Landmark Newspaper for several years during two different stints with the newspaper in the 1990s and again in the early 2000s.
Emma Jo has previously appeared on an episode of Landmark Live, the newspaper’s vodcast.
Promoters say Emma Jo’s show promises to be filled with heart, soul, and rock and roll cowgirl energy.
“This is a story about a girl who found herself in a life she wasn’t supposed to be in,” Emma Jo, describes her latest album, Girl Bandit. She says this collection of songs is a celebration of resilience, self-discovery, and the strength to overcome life’s toughest challenges, and is set to be released on Friday, the same day as the performance at Knuckleheads.

Born, raised, and schooled in Kansas City (she holds degrees from Rockhurst University and UMKC), Emma Jo has chosen to stay true to her hometown roots instead of relocating to Nashville like many in the industry. Her commitment to building her audience right here in Kansas City speaks to her passion for our community. There’s even a song on the album called “Kansas City in the Autumn Time,” which she calls “my love song to my hometown.”
