PROPOSED AT 72ND STREET AND NW ROANRIDGE
The Parkville Women’s Clinic received the go-ahead from the Kansas City Plan Commission to construct a new medical office within the Linden Office Park, located at the southeast corner of 72nd Street and Northwest Roanridge, Kansas City in Platte County.
Sonya Rice, executive director of the Parkville Women’s Clinic, said the site will serve as the new home for the Parkville Women’s Clinic.
The proposed single-story medical office will be constructed on undeveloped land on the east side of the office park. The medical clinic will get to take advantage of the essential core infrastructure services within the office park area. An existing parking lot will accommodate the medical clinic’s required twenty-six parking spaces.
According to a Kansas City Plan Commission staff report, the medical office building will have 6,500 square feet of floor space, featuring a client resource area, hospitality area, exam room, and phlebotomy area for drawing blood.
The renderings of the medical clinic portray a contemporary 21-foot-tall building with an exterior composition of thin stone, fine finish stucco, and composite wood. A generous number of front windows will convey to patients a sense of transparency inside the clinic, states the report.
The prospective health clinic would occupy about 2.5 acres located at 5801 NW 72nd Street, adjacent to the Cornerstone Law Firm. The site along the KCI Corridor is planned to serve as the Parkville Women’s Clinic’s new medical facility.
Soft wispy grass and trees like American beech, honey locust, Kentucky coffee berry, and flowering dogwoods would frame the building’s exterior.
Bicyclists and pedestrians can access the office park from paved sidewalks along NW 72nd Street. Along with long-term bicycle parking spaces, the proposed project plan includes adding sidewalks that extend north, connecting with sidewalks along 72nd Street.
Corner Stone Design, LLC of Platte City is providing the architectural services for the proposed clinic and Schulte Engineering and Consulting is the civil engineer.
The Parkville Women’s Clinic is a non-profit organization that provides medical services for women with unexpected pregnancies. Parkville Women’s Clinic currently occupies a space inside the Village at Burlington Creek. The clinic offers pregnancy testing, service referrals, and limited OB ultrasounds.
