It’s fall. Or at least close enough, no matter what the official calendar says.

Fall means football and a little friendly competition is always a highlight of the football season at The Landmark.

Landmark Pick’em, an NFL predictions contest sponsored by The Landmark, is back for its third year. Fun and prizes will be all the rage.

It’s time to show off your football knowledge. Make predictions on Chiefs games as well as every other NFL game on the schedule. As you know, the NFL season kicks off Thursday night, Sept. 7, when the Chiefs take on the Detroit Lions.

Landmark Pick’em is free to enter. To enter, go to the “Landmark Pick’em” tab on the newspaper’s website at plattecountylandmark.com.

Simply choose which team you think will win each game. The Vegas point spread will be listed but that’s just for informational purposes. You don’t have to make your picks against the spread.

Also, choose whether you think each game will go over or under the projected point total listed with each game. Your over/under picks are used only if needed to break a tie.

Landmark Pick’em is a weekly contest. The top prognosticator each week will receive prizes such as gift certificates to restaurants, as well as bragging rights over Landmark players such as Ivan Foley, Chris Kamler, Guy Speckman, Brad Carl, and Tech Guy Schneider.

Weekly prizes this year will include gift certificates to local establishments such as Tanner’s Bar & Grill in Platte City, Ten and Two Coffee at Creekside in Parkville, and the KC Cattle Company retail location in Downtown Parkville. Prizes will also include tickets to the Kansas City Renaissance Festival.

Go to plattecountylandmark.com/sign-up to get started and make your picks.

It’s super simple to join via your Google, Facebook, Apple logins, etc. and the picks are easy to make, can be done in a matter of a couple of minutes.

Let’s be honest, you’re up against a pretty talented group of prognosticators among The Landmark staff. Humble, too.

Weekly contest winners will be named and announced at plattecountylandmark.com.

The official contest sponsor this year is The Edlin Team–Brandon Edlin Real Estate, located at 2000 Kentucky Ave., Platte City, Mo., phone 816-977-5185.
