Construction continues on the new City Hall/police station for Platte City at 224 Marshall Road, though the planned opening, originally tentatively set for earlier this year, has been pushed back again. Now the expected move-in date is “prior to Thanksgiving,” reports Marji Gehr, city administrator. As of Aug. 18, Gehr gave the following update on construction: painting, ceiling tiles, doors and hardware expected to be complete at the end of August; a punch list review with general contractor, architects and the city is scheduled for Sept. 5; floor tile, wall tile and casework will hopefully be complete in mid-September; furniture installation is planned to be complete mid-September; site grading, stormwater flumes and inlets, concrete, landscaping, asphalt, curbs and fencing complete in September, with “move in expected prior to Thanksgiving.”
