FIRST SPEC BUILDING COULD BE COMPLETED IN MAY
Ground has been broken and much dirt has been moved in the area in Platte City that will eventually be home to the project known as the Platte International Commerce Center.
The 160-acre area is just east of Interstate 29 and north of Hwy. 92.
Three “Class A” distribution buildings will be constructed on the site. The location is viewed as one of the supply chain and logistics distribution “hot spots” in the United States, with the capability to reach 85 percent of the United States in two days or less.
The project belongs to VanTrust Real Estate, a Kansas City-based developer. It will feature 2.36 million square feet of distribution space.
The buildings will be available for leasing to tenants, with specific spacing available from 50,000 square feet to 1.3 million square feet.
The first speculative building will be 748,833 square feet and is expected to be shell complete by May of 2024, company officials have said.
JLL’s Phillip Algrim, executive vice president, and Kevin Wilkerson, managing director, are leading the leasing assignment for VanTrust.

The location is praised as being “optimal” with its immediate access to Interstate 29 and Interstate 435. The location provides access to major freight distribution markets within 12 hours, including to places such as Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Indianapolis, Louisville, Memphis, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Nashville, Oklahoma City, Omaha and St. Louis.
