Aaron Beene recently returned from Lisbon, Portugal, where he competed in the world sporting clays championship. Aaron, seeded the USA’s top shooter in the junior division, scored a sizzling 160 out of 200 targets to finish sixth in the world in that division. Even more impressive, he ranked 59th out of 550 of the best shooters in the world, in the men’s open division. Aaron is 17 years old and is a senior at Platte County High School. He is the son of Don and Mary Ann Beene.

Brande Davis, 18, the 1993 Platte County Fair Queen, is pictured with Kimberly McDonald, 21, of Weston, first runner-up, and Melissa Fick, 21, of Parkville, second runner-up. Although the Platte County Fair was postponed to Aug. 24-28, it was necessary to go ahead with the queen contest so that she might enter the State Fair Queen Contest.
