About 150 Lions Club members, their families and friends attended Tiffany’s Attic dinner theatre in Kansas City on Tuesday evening where they enjoyed dinner and the show “Winter Chicken.”


The annual picnic of the Platte City BPW Club held at the home of Elsie K. Wells on Tuesday evening, June 20 at 6:30 p.m. The 1978 winner of the Bess Newby Murray Memorial Award, Denise Ann Perkins and her mother, Mrs. Leo Perkins, Route 28, Kansas City, will be honored guests. All members are urged to be present.

The City of Platte City has designated the week of June 26 through July 1 as Clean Up Week. All materials to be discarded may be left at the curb for pick up by the city refuse department.


Janis M. Boydston and Kevin M. Reineke exchanged marriage vows the evening of May 20 at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Edgerton. Rev. Terry Siron officiated at the double ring ceremony. Charlotte Johnson was organist and Kay Jackson soloist. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Owen Boydston of Dearborn and Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Reineke of Platte City. After a honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple is at home in Edgerton. The groom is employed at TWA and the bride at United Telephone Company.
