Cpt. Corey Carlisle with the Kansas City Police Department says the juvenile was walking in the construction zone next to the middle lane of southbound I-29. Just past the bridge that crosses over NW 72nd Street, the juvenile was struck by an unknown tractor-trailer that was traveling southbound on I-29.

Police say the semi-truck failed to stop and left the scene, continuing southbound on I-29.
