45 Years Ago–May 26, 1978

Construction has begun on a new office building located across the street from the Platte County Courthouse at Fourth and Main Streets next to the Ben Franklin Store. The building is being built for Owens Realty by Callegari Construction Company. It will be a 2,800 sq. ft., 40 x 70 ft. one story Colonial style building with a courtyard in front and paved parking area in the rear. McDaniel Title Insurance Company will be building east of the Owens building and next to Fourth Street simultaneously. The Callegari Company will also be their builder.


Miss Cheryl Phillips will be among the 40 graduates of Methodist Medical Center School of Nursing June 9, 1978. Graduation ceremonies will be held at the Krug Park Bowl in St. Joseph, Mo. Cheryl is a 1974 graduate of Lawson High School. She will be employed at Methodist Medical Center in the intensive care unit following graduation. Miss Phillips is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Jantzen of Platte City.


Airman Michael J. Robinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Robinson of Route 1, Edgerton, has been assigned to Lowry AFB, Colorado, after completing Air Force basic training. Airman Robinson will now receive specialized training in the munitions and weapons maintenance field. The airman is a 1977 graduate of North Platte R-1 High School.
