After 40 years of Bless Park being underutilized and incurring significant expenses, the City of Weston Park Board is happy to report that the park will soon be hosting additional activities and community Events.
“I am excited to contribute something back to the community, and create a valuable outdoor haven for Weston’s children, hikers, gardeners, and visitors. We are blessed with gorgeous natural scenery and I’m eager to see Bless Park flourish”, said Benthe Warnaar-Schwennesen, local Weston resident and concessionaire.
Mrs. Warnaar-Schwennesen is aiming to add activities such as gardens, nature trails, and glamping sites to Bless Park, with a grand opening scheduled in the fall. The board approved the concessionaire contract with Mrs. Warnaar-Schwennesen after final city attorney review and Missouri Department of Natural Resources approval.
Bless Park will remain open to the public, with added features to attract more visitors to enjoy the park.
The concessionaire arrangement will relieve annual expenditures to Weston Park Board as well as providing additional outdoor resources for other parks in our community.
