Five Boy Scouts of Platte City Troop 248 were among the 211 Scouts to become Eagle Scouts in the Spring Eagle Court of Honor on Sunday, April 2. Heart of America Council BSA. The honorees are Richard Cole, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cole; James Baber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rob Baber; Samuel Otto, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Otto; Harold J. Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Baker, Jr.; Earl Cole III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cole.


Revival services began at the First Baptist Church of Dearborn Sunday evening and will continue through Saturday night. Rev. Mike Davis, pastor of the Smithville Baptist Church, is the evangelist and Rev. Frank Queen, a student of Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, is the song leader.

Daylight Saving Time goes into effect at 2 a.m. on Sunday morning, April 30. This calls for turning up all watches and clocks one hour. If you forget to do this you are going to be late for a lot of things. Most of us will lose an hour of sleep but we’ll get it back the last Sunday in October when we return to Standard Time.


The annual spring concert will be presented in the high school gym by the vocal music department of the Platte County R-3 High School on Tuesday evening, May 9 at 7:30 p.m. The evening should prove to be entertaining with a wide variety of music to be sung.
