Third Street Social will be an anchor tenant of the $250 million mixed-use Metro North Crossing Development. A late fall 2023 opening is planned.

Metro North Crossing is located near U.S. Highway 169 and Barry Road, at the site of the former Metro North Mall.

Third Street Social will occupy 7,000 square-foot space as the anchor of Woodstone, the $60 million luxury apartment and mixed-use project within Metro North Crossing completed in late 2022.

The local-owned restaurant will open in a prominent ground-level corner space at 400 NW Legacy Drive, Kansas City, Mo. 64155.

The first location opened in downtown Lee’s Summit in the 70-year-old historic Arnold Hall building where former President Harry S. Truman announced the start of his political career at 123 SE 3rd Street. The street serves as the source of its name combined with social in reference to the chef-driven social dining experience and large lively bar.

The restaurant expanded south of the Country Club Plaza to another historic building in 2021.

Third Street Social is known for its classic American burgers and comfort food like fried chicken, chicken pot pie and shrimp and grits. The restaurant serves lunch, dinner, daily happy hour and weekend brunch.

Previously announced and already open at Metro North Crossing are Hawaiian Brothers Island Grill (opened December 2022) and Whataburger (opened January 2023).

The partners in Metro North Crossing also own and developed T-Shotz, a 52,000 square-foot golf entertainment venue (opened 2020).

“Since we started the Metro North Crossing project, we’ve heard from Northlanders that there is a definite need for more quality local restaurants. We’ve had Domhnall and Andy at the top of our list for years, so it’s very exciting to be able to announce Third Street Social. This is a big deal for our project and this area of the Northland,” says Dan Horn, project manager, Metro North Crossing, LLC.

About Third Street Social
Third Street Social is open for lunch, dinner and happy hour, as well as Saturday and Sunday brunch. The restaurant’s menu features a range of options from shareables, salads, sandwiches and burgers to hand-cut steaks and seafood. Third Street Social is led by long-time local restaurateurs Domhnall Molloy and Andy Lock and culinary director Po Wang. The restaurant group also owns Summit Grill with locations in Lee’s Summit, Kansas City’s Waldo neighborhood and Gladstone, as well as Pearl Tavern in Lee’s Summit as well as South of Summit and Boru Asian Eatery, both in Kansas City’s Waldo neighborhood.

About Metro North Crossing
Metro North Crossing is a 106-acre mixed use redevelopment on the former site of the Metro North Mall. The total projected cost of the development is estimated at more than $250 million with an estimated $100 million invested to date on the completed phases, including the $60 million Woodstone luxury apartments.

Metro North Crossing is the third major mall redevelopment for the local development team, which also completed the redevelopment of the Antioch Center Mall and the Blue Ridge Mall.
