EDITOR:

Just wanted to tell you that I had almost decided not to renew my subscription to The Landmark but after reading your (March 22) edition I knew that no way could I not know what is going on in Platte County.

Trump’s erratic policies

Doesn’t matter that soon I will be 99 years old. I still want to know what is happening in the world and in Platte County. Body may be old, brain not (yet).

I lived in Platte County 62 years, loved every minute, became a part of its progress and growth in my small way. I am thankful that I was privileged to do it.

I would miss reading about the progress that has been made since I left almost five years ago. I would miss the intrigue of its politics. I would miss Commissioner Wood’s stupidity. I would have missed the unbelievable action of the county commissioners’ decision not be available to the citizens of Platte County, thankfully that has now been changed? That shocked me! When I was on the county commission, we would have never done that.

I remember your coming up to our office. You liked to talk to Max Hunt. Also, we were there most of the time. Not like now.

So, I am once again subscribing to your Landmark for the many articles in it that I so enjoy and learn from, especially your editorial.

(Editor’s Note: Sue Dance was first elected to the Platte County Commission to serve the eastern district–now known as district one–in 1980 and served through 1986. Terms of office for associate commissioners were two years back then.)
