Candidates for the non-partisan Platte County Health Department Board of Directors will discuss their interests, backgrounds and philosophies of public health on Monday, March 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Platte County Resource Center, 11724 NW Plaza Circle, KCMO.

The event is coordinated by the Platte County Federated Democratic Women’s group and is open to all. This is not the Platte County Democratic Central Committee.

Registration is not required but appreciated.

There are three open positions. Top three vote-getters at the Tuesday, April 4 election will be elected. The voting for health department spots is countywide.

Health board candidates include, in order that names will appear on the ballot, are: Michael Shafe, Susan Cole, Kim Swaney, Steve Hoeger, Karen E. Payne, Paula Willmarth, Marygold Fry and Brandi Moritz.

Willmarth is the only incumbent on the ballot.
