Discussion continues on Hwy. 9 proposals in Parkville

Landmark Live, The Landmark’s videocast shown on the newspaper’s Facebook page, will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 2.

Hosts Ivan Foley, Landmark publisher, and Guy Speckman, Landmark columnist, will have a conversation with Katerndahl about the city’s two tax proposals on the April ballot, as well as other City of Parkville topics that may come up.

On April 4, Parkville voters will decide the fate of a proposed use tax and also a proposed half cent sales tax for public safety. The use tax would be applied on goods sold online or out of state. The city says use tax revenues would provide dedicated funding for infrastructure and capital improvements. A half cent sales tax for law enforcement would provide dedicated funding for public safety initiatives, according to the city.

The show goes live at 6 p.m. Thursday but the video will remain on The Landmark’s Facebook page (Platte County Landmark) for viewing at your convenience. The video will also be posted to the Platte County Landmark’s channel on YouTube.
