MAHOMES-OWNED WHATABURGER ALSO PLANNED
A First Watch restaurant has opened at Tiffany Springs in Platte County.
The new First Watch opened recently near the N. Ambassador/NW Skyview intersection at Tiffany Springs. The official address is 9021 N Ambassador Dr., Kansas City, Mo. 64154.
First Watch is an American restaurant chain based in Bradenton, Fla. The chain has more than 420 locations in 28 states.
The menu at First Watch includes items like avocado toast, smoked salmon eggs benedict, farm stand breakfast tacos, lemon ricotta pancakes and a fresh juice bar.
According to the chain’s online information, the name First Watch is a nautical reference to the first work shift aboard a ship, since First Watch restaurants are only open from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The Landmark first reported the planned First Watch location last June.
The location is in what is known as Tiffany Square East at the corner of N. Ambassador Dr. and NW 88th St., Kansas City in Platte County.
Tiffany Square East is developed by Tutera Real Estate and Development.
First Watch occupies the northwest corner of the lot in a 4,000 square foot building. A Whataburger restaurant will eventually occupy the southwest corner of the lot in a 3,700 square foot building.
Tiffany Square East is the final phase of Tutera’s 14-acre development which began in 2016. Tutera completed a three-phase 300 unit senior living community in early 2020. Whataburger and First Watch will complete the west portion of the final four acres.
The Whataburger at Tiffany Springs will be owned/operated by the Whataburger franchise that includes Patrick Mahomes, star quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs.
The burger chain also plans to open a Whataburger in the 9100 block of Hwy. 45 in Parkville in 2023, basically across Hwy. 45 from Price Chopper. Mahomes’ group will also own/operate that location.
