Brock Purdy, the replacement QB for the San Francisco 49ers, was awarded the title of Mr. Irrelevant for being chosen last in the 2022 NFL Draft. After being selected as Mr. Irrelevant, Brock and his guests were invited to visit Disneyland, asked attend media events, visit a beneficiary charity, and attend a MLB game to be honored as “Mr. Irrelevant.” Brock also received the “Lowsman” Trophy, which shows a player fumbling a football and is the opposite of the Heisman Trophy.
It has previously been pointed out that Foley has been off his Pick’em game this year and has been the Landmark Staff league’s Mr. Irrelevant in first place finishes. This week Landmark columnist Guy Speckman edged Ivan out of a first-place tie by receiving “the Foley” tie-breaking point keeping Ivan dead-last in first place finishes. Guy’s kindness has allowed Ivan to retain his role as the Landmark Staff league’s Mr. Irrelevant for another week. Way to go Guy, your charity has not gone unnoticed.
As a reminder “the Foley” tie-breaking point was introduced in Week 6. In a nutshell, “the Foley” is awarded as a tie-breaking point to the player whose picks or final updates were recorded first in an individual ranking tranche. This was done to award players who make their picks early in the week and stick with them versus changing them as the week’s results (and player rankings) are updated and revealed. The award was eponymously named after Foley as he has been known to change his picks as the week progresses (see table below)

Fascinating…
