Week 4 – 15 Seconds of Kablam

“15 seconds of fame” is defined by Wikipedia as short-lived media publicity or celebrity of an individual or phenomenon. The expression was inspired by a quotation misattributed to Andy Warhol: “In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 seconds.”.

“15 seconds of fame” is what the streaker during the Rams vs 49ers game thought he was going to get by being a dunderhead and running onto the field with a smoke flare.  15 seconds and then KABLAM is what he really got when he was tackled by Rams linebacker Bobby Wagner and fellow linebacker Takkarist McKinley.  Ouch.  Our poor dunderhead is now more likely to receive 15 weeks of physical rehabilitation and community service.

With Landmark Pick’em, achieving 15 seconds of fame is rewarding and not painful. That is unless you’re forced to listen to Foley brag about his picks this week.  Sadly, he did manage to place first in the Landmark Staff league – kinda  (there is more that story which we will share at a later date).

Our winners for Week Four in order are:

  1. Susie Sheppard Williams with 13 picks correct
  2. Robert Shaw & Keith Rod each with 12 picks correct and 21 tie-breaking points.
  3. Paul Jones with 12 picks correct and 20 tie-breaking points.

Winners, DON’T FORGET—you need to email your mailing address to ivan@plattecountylandmark.com and we’ll get your gift cards from our prize sponsors in the mail to you.

Congrats to our Week Four winners – enjoy your 15 seconds of fame!  Time to make your Week Five picks.
