Kansas City police say they are investigating a fatality at the Zona Rosa shopping district that occurred shortly after 12 noon on Tuesday.

Kansas City police told The Landmark that the incident occurred at NW 87th Street and NW Prairie View Road, near the Old Navy store in Zona Rosa. It involved a Kenworth T880 dump truck. Police say the pedestrian was attempting to cross the road as the dump truck was turning left. The driver of the truck did not see the pedestrian, according to the police report, “but felt a bump.” Police say the driver got out of the truck and saw the pedestrian under his vehicle. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
