Jerome and Pauline Middleton of Smithville will celebrate their 67th wedding anniversary with a gathering on July 12, 1992 at the Nashua RLDS Church on North Oak Trafficway in Kansas City. A basket dinner will begin at 1 p.m. and cake and punch will be served from 2-4 p.m. Friends and relatives are invited to “come share memories and good times of the years past.” Paper plates and drinks will be provided. Jerome Middleton will observe his 90th birthday on Friday, July 10.


The United States Achievement Academy has announced that Kandi Boswell of Edgerton has been named an All-American Scholar. The USAA has established the All-American Scholar for superior students who excel in the academic disciplines. The All-American Scholars must earn a 3.3 or better grade point average. Only scholars selected by school instructor, counselor or other qualified sponsor are accepted. These scholars are also eligible for other awards given by the USAA. Kandi Boswell, who attended East Buchanan High School, was nominated for this National Award by Mrs. Rosalie Ingle. She will appear in the All-America Scholar Directory, which is published nationally. Kandi is the daughter of Buddie and Virginia Boswell of Edgerton.
