United in marriage on May 21 at First Christian Church of Platte City were Judy K. Cox, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Billy G. Cox of Platte City, and Thomas G. Richmond, son of Dr. George Richmond of St. Joseph and the late Mrs. Richmond. Rev. Lester Weeks performed the double ring ceremony. Mrs. Janet Leachman was the organist and the soloists were Sarah Breen, cousin of the bridge, and David Wood. A reception and buffet followed at the Benton Club in St. Joseph. Serving at the bride’s table were Susan Breen and Nancy Martin, cousins of the bride. After a wedding trip to Florida, the couple are at home in St. Joseph.
Miss Rebecca Jean Gourley and Rex Steven Majors were united in marriage May 21, 1977, at the Tower View Baptist Church in Kansas City, Mo. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Gourley of Platte City and the groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. James Majors of Kansas City.
Dr. Wayne F. Westfall is announcing the opening of his practice of dentistry at the Platte Medical Clinic in Platte City. The anticipated opening will be July 18. Dr. Westfall graduated from North Kansas City High School, received a B.A. degree in chemistry from William Jewell College and received his D.D.S. degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Dentistry. Weekday clinic hours will be from 8 to 5. Saturday from 8 to 12. Some evening appointments will be available.
