The City of Platte City’s new splash park at 1009 Second Street was a popular place Monday, May 30 on a warm Memorial Day. A nice-sized gathering of kids–accompanied by their parents–had some fun as the temperatures climbed into the 80s. Among those enjoying her time was Lucy Shifflett, age 19 months, who tried out a swing in a dry section of the park while pointing to her brother and other kids running through the nearby water features. There is no charge to use the splash park and its features.
