Mr. and Mrs. William Hawkins, Jr. Camden Point, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Dena Kay, to Randal Z. Parsons, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sherwood Parsons, Weston.


Mr. and Mrs. Herrel Miller will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary on Sunday, May 29.

Mrs. Wilma McComb Tatman, Leavenworth High School English teacher, retires this year after 39 years of teaching school.


Mr. and Mrs. Mike Berry announce the birth of their son, Rodney Michael, May 19, 1977, at the Research Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Berry of Tracy are the paternal grandparents and Mr. and Mrs. C.T. Sinnard of Tulsa are the maternal grandparents.


The University of Kansas held its commencement exercises Monday night in Memorial Stadium. Local graduates include Kathleen A. Dowd, Platte City; Robert Child, Edgerton; Mary Mummery, Parkville; Margaret A. Egan, Parkville; and Hector D. Quemada, Parkville.


Mr. and Mrs. Stan Dominski spent several days in Atlanta, Ga. where they attended the Piedmont Arts Festival. Two of their children had entries in the art festival.
