Chloe Bramble, a graduating senior at Platte County High School, is this year’s winner of The Landmark English Award. The award, established by the newspaper in 1982, is given each year to a Platte County High School senior as a way to foster an interest in the English language. The award includes $150 from the newspaper, an amount that is matched by a generous anonymous Landmark reader for a total cash award of $300, along with a certificate suitable for framing. A faculty panel at the high school chooses the winner each year. Chloe is the daughter of Vince and the late Jaclyn Bramble of Platte City. She says she will be attending Kansas State University in the fall and has not yet decided on a major. In her high school years, she has served as secretary for the Future Business Leaders of America, competed in Scholar Bowl, has been a member of Student Council and a member of the yearbook staff. She also has held down a part-time job at Minsky’s Pizza. Chloe is from a military family and has two older brothers and a younger sister who will be a junior at Platte County High School in the fall.
