It’s a $443,500 job

The Platte County Community Center North building in Platte City will be getting a new roof. On Monday, the Platte County Commission approved a bid from City Wide Maintenance Company, Inc. for a roof replacement to be performed at a cost of $443,500. Chris Oryshyn, assistant director of Platte County Parks and Recreation, said the original roof of the building, which opened in the early 2000s, is in “dire need of replacement. Every time it rains there are leaks.” Payment for the new roof will be made from an account that is funded through membership fees at the center, Oryshyn indicated. The center is located at 3101 Running Horse Road in Platte City.
